ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!

Filed under: Admission Info — Allison Bahme @ 9:57 pm

As promised…

The admission decisions are no longer in our hands – they belong to UPS or the US Postal Service for delivery.

This means that they should begin arriving tomorrow (Friday, March 16) however, it is out of our control at this point. While we aim to have a decision in your hands by the end of next week… we cannot guarantee its arrival date!

In addition, your decisions will be available online at https://apply.olin.edu as of 12 noon on Wednesday, March 21st. If you have been admitted, you can use the website to give us your reply to our offer of admission, as well as pay the enrollment deposit should you choose to join the Olin College Class of 2011 (and we hope you do!). ;-)

As outlined during CW, some of you will receive your decisions (yes, in large envelopes!) via UPS while others of you will receive standard-sized envelopes via USPS. Please note: Some of those “thin” envelopes will contain an offer for a spot on one of our two Waiting Lists - so don’t immediately think the worst and throw it away or burn it in effigy!!

Don’t forget that you can always contact us if you have any questions or concerns about what happens next in the process.

Relax and enjoy spring!

  1. Exciting times! I remember when I got my Olin acceptance - it was my first and I was pretty happy (though not nearly as much as my mom) when I got home and opened the envelope. It’s a really nice letter, too - by far the nicest of all the acceptance letters I got. It’s like the other schools don’t put in as much personal attention for some reason…

Could you explain the two waiting lists?

Best of luck to all the applicants/candidates (I don’t really know what term to use at this point) on their decisions!

Oh, and about the timestamp: I do know what time it is. Even at 6:30 AM, I’m enjoying what I’m doing (or at least I think that’s what the fuzziness behind the lack of sleep is…)!

  2. Matt (and anyone else who’s interested) -

This year we’ve instituted a 2-tiered Wait List system:

There are 10 students on a Wait List that includes the Deferred Year Option and 20 students on a Wait List that does NOT include the Deferred Year Option. Neither list is ranked.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with all the offers of admission and then go from there!

    :-D

  4. Yes, I was really excited about the acceptance letter from Olin. And 2 years later, I am even more ecstatic about the outcome of Matt’s entire application process. I think it is important for all to know that ultimately, everyone seems to be where they will prosper and flourish. Best wishes to all!
