It’s good to be home
I had a hard time going to sleep last night… perhaps due in large part to this annoying cough I’ve developed, but I digress… My mind was racing with thoughts all the wonderful people I got to meet and hang out with yesterday, the beginning of Family Weekend 2006. Even though I’m not a student and my family is hundreds of miles away, FW couldn’t happen at a better time. I’m sure most of you are feeling it too - it’s THAT time of year when you’ve settled into your routine, you’ve got a gazillion things on your plate, and you’re feeling a bit run down. I think everyone at Olin had hit that wall as well… but then… on a BEAUTIFUL (dare I say perfect?!?) New England autumn weekend, the people that love you most arrive on campus and suddenly things settle back into perspective and that huge problem set doesn’t seem quite so daunting. I’ve been feeling that way too and Family Weekend is just the pick-me-up I needed, even if everyone who is visiting this weekend is not my FAMILY, they’re still my “family” and it feels good.
I’ve only been back on campus for two days, but I’m so glad to be here… to be home!
(Pics of Family Weekend, FWOP’s opening night of “The Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare - Abridged” and the Olin Soccer Team’s FIRST WIN are coming soon…)
Have a great weekend!
